This week’s newsletter is a lighter one - a little recap of what I wore over the past week, including a few outfits from a long weekend away with Jordan (my hoosband). I’m sharing the pieces I threw on, how I styled them, and links to similar (or better) options to safely feed your shoppies syndrome.
I also picked up a few trinkets while we were away and I’m sharing some fun ways I’m planning to style them.
I’m very excited about these $8 earrings, they remind me of dontletdisco. Planning to wear them like a brooch (secured with plastic earring backs). I clipped two onto my tote (the weaving makes it easy) and also tried it on mesh shorts (these are cooler but these are $8). Here are some beaded bag charms that look v cute and not too pricey. Tote bag.
This top had poufy cap sleeves I hated - too many sweet details for a girl like me. I cut them off and now the ruffle falls perfectly over the shoulder. Similar really pretty tops: here, here and here. Denim shorts (size up so it sits low on your hips). I also sent this short to many of my clients, it's more expensive but an amazing fit (gemini wash is it). I scored the beaded bag at an antique shop but some options here, HERE (wow) and this is so beautiful but more expensive.
They wouldn’t let us in because Jordan was wearing a hoodie and I looked like this. Restaurants that enforce dress codes… we’re good thanks. I was in the Matteau pants, his henley, my mom’s old black beaded bag (try this), the most comfortable flip flops of all and a single bangle.
Found this bag at the Staud store - love the colors and stitching. It’s oversized but super light.
Reminder: your shirt can be a sarong. Wrap it around your waist and let the sleeves cover the open part. Bra and shirt by Cissa (short is cute too). Sandals worn throughout. Bottega crossbody — big but not comfy. Wouldn’t recommend. This one is a similar vibe.
Swimsuit w removable straps. Flower clip courtesy of my friend Valeria — DM her to order one. The crochet shorts were handmade by my mother-in-law (she’s a talent). Here are a few greatoptions for crochetshorts.
Jordan and I spent the afternoon at the most incredible rare book store (Raptis Books - if you're ever in Palm Beach, go). I got the tee at the concert, tabis, bangle. Bloomers are sold out but here are some alts. Found my enormous bag on vestaire.
Look at the price tag on Darwin’s first edition of On the Origin of Species! I love Charles, he deserves it
Went to my favorite furniture store, Casa Gusto. Always such a treat to wander through - they’re true masters at what they do. I’m wearing an old Nili shirt, try this guy. Shorts $30 - just bought and enjoying very much. Beaded bag.
Had to honor JW for his Dior debut. Wore one of my favorite shirts - available in white or can custom your own stripe like I did. The board shorts are Rosie Assoulin via Poshmark last year but these could be great and these look shockingly good. The sandals are truly so comfortable, I’m wearing the burgundy. Straw tote. I made a little tutorial if you want to learn how to tie a tie.
That’s all for now. We’re off to the mountains for some crisp air and rocky walks. I’ll try to write from there, but if not, see you soon with more outfits and fashun.
I hope you have the most wonderful and safe long weekend!
I officially love your mother-in-law.
