I’ve been wearing the same striped long sleeve tee almost every day this week. The jersey is the perfect weight, slouchy and soft. And the colors are muted and vintage-looking so it works with erryyythang.
When you're ready to put the sweaters away—but not quite at tanks and sundresses yet, this kind of long sleeve tee fills the gap. Lightweight, easy to wear, and surprisingly versatile.
The stripe adds just enough interest without being loud. It works with bright colors, sharp tailoring, and relaxed, everyday staples. One of those pieces that ends up carrying more outfits than you expect.
Here are some of the ways I’ve been styling it:
White cotton pants. you can throw a sweater over your shoulders to act as a scarf for chillier mornings.

Layered under a striped button-down. Mixing stripes in a similar palette gives the whole look intention without feeling too “done.”

With a polo layered underneath and the white collar peeking out. I wore this with an old Alexander McQueen kilt I found in the back of my closet. I liked how the white socks echoed the collar—extra prep in a fun way.

With a bright-colored cotton pant. Depending on the stripe, it tones the look down just enough so the color pops, but doesn’t feel too saturated or overwhelming.

Tucked into a white cotton skirt, with or without a blazer. Clean and pulled-together either way.

With low-slung jeans and flip-flops, you can add a belt for some lift if you choose:

With a light yellow cotton skirt, either tucked in or left loose. Tucked in gives it more shape, tucked out keeps it casual.

Over a swimsuit, with a sarong tied at the waist or wearing your button down as a skirt (per last newsletter)

With a white tee layered on top, paired with a dressy short and a heel. The tee adds dimension, and the striped long sleeve balances out the more elevated pieces.
With a suit. either just the trousers, or under the full thing. The casual tee softens the suit and makes it more casual, and the combo feels considered without being buttoned-up.

with a mini short; you can do this with a printed short like the gingham ones here or a sweat-short.

some other striped long sleeves that will do the trick:

If you already have a striped long sleeve, this is your sign to pull it back into rotation. And if you don’t… maybe it’s time.
striped shirts don’t get the love they deserve!! they’re a staple and neutral imho
Please, does the polo stripe tee run oversize or did you size up to achieve this look? xx
